Is this for you?

A card reader only makes sense if we run your checkout.

Payments aren’t something you bolt on. A reader that doesn’t know what you just booked is worse than the one you already have — your staff would re-key every amount, and your day wouldn’t add up. So this is honest about who it’s for.

Yes — if

  • You’re starting from scratch — a diary, a phone and cash. This gives you a site, your bookings and your card payments as one system.
  • You’re leaving a booking platform and taking your business with you — your brand, your clients, your checkout, all in your name.
  • You sell online and in person, and you want one account and one payout for both.

No — if

  • You’re happy on Fresha, Booksy, Square or Jane and you’re staying. Keep their reader — it’s wired into their system and ours wouldn’t be.

In that case we’ll build you the site and put your existing booking flow into it, and we’ll say so plainly rather than sell you something that would make your day harder. That’s a shorter invoice for us, and the right answer for you.

What you get

One account, one payout, whether they paid you at the counter or on your site.

Cards, properly

A certified reader that takes tap, chip and PIN — debit and credit both. Not a phone pretending to be a till: a phone can’t take a PIN, and Interac asks for one on bigger sales and on repeat taps. A real terminal never turns a paying customer away.

Wired into your system

The amount goes from your booking or your store straight to the reader — nobody re-types it, nothing gets mistyped, and the sale reconciles itself. Online, the card form belongs to your payments provider, so card numbers never touch your website.

Your account, your money

The payments account is opened in your business’s name, and payouts land in your bank on your schedule. Counter or website, it’s the same account and the same payout. If you ever leave us, your payments keep working.

What’s included

  • A card terminal — tap, chip, PIN, debit and credit
  • Your own payments account, opened in your business’s name
  • Wired into your booking or store, so the amount is never re-typed

Who it’s for Any business that takes payment in person — and any store that takes it online.

Your data, plainly

  • The account is in your business’s name — not ours. Money moves from your customer to your bank without passing through us, and we take no cut of it.
  • Card numbers never touch your website or our code. The card form and the reader belong to your payments provider — that is the point of building it this way.
  • Most small businesses now qualify for a lower, government-set rate on credit cards — and not every provider passes it on. We’ll tell you whether yours does. Your quote itemizes everything; we add no markup to your payments.

FAQ

Straight answers about payments & terminal.

Do you ever hold our money?

No. The payments account is opened in your business’s name, and payouts go from your payments provider straight to your bank. We build the software that talks to it — we have no access to your funds and we take no percentage of them. If you stopped working with us tomorrow, your payments would keep running.

Can’t we just take payments on a phone and skip the terminal?

Honestly: not in Canada, not on its own. A phone can accept a tap, but it has no keypad — so it cannot take a PIN. Interac asks for a PIN on higher-value sales, on repeat taps, and on some cards every single time. A phone-only setup would eventually mean turning a paying customer away at the till. We’ll set up phone tapping as a handy extra, but the terminal is the thing you actually run on.

What does it actually cost us to take a card?

Your payments provider charges a fee per sale, and it varies with the card and the business — so we won’t quote you a single number here. What we will do is show you the real rate before you sign anything. One thing worth knowing: most small businesses now qualify for a lower, government-set rate on credit cards, and not every provider actually passes it on. We’ll check whether yours does. We add nothing on top either way — we’re not paid on your payments.

We already have a terminal. Do we have to change?

If you’re happy with it and you’re staying on the booking system it came with — keep it. We’ll build around it and we’ll say so plainly rather than sell you something you don’t need. If you’re moving your booking or store over to us, you’ll usually need a reader that talks to the new system, because terminals are tied to the provider that issued them. It’s a small one-time cost and we’ll show it in the quote.

Who do we call if the terminal stops working on a Saturday?

Your payments provider — and we choose ones that actually answer. They own the account, the money and the hardware, including replacing a reader that fails, so they’re the only people who can fix it quickly. We support the part we built: the website, the booking system, and the connection between them and your terminal. We’ll tell you exactly who to call for what before you go live, in writing.

What if I don’t like what you come up with?

You’ll see your site three ways before we build anything — different looks, all using your real content. They land within 10 business days of your deposit, and if we miss that date, every dollar comes back. You pick the one that fits, and that’s what we build. If none of them do, we’ll take your feedback and try once more. If it still isn’t right, you’ve paid the $500 to start and you owe us nothing further — no site you’re stuck with, no argument. You will never be talked into a website you don’t like.
